Gestures are so important. They're the quickest way to iterate, to figure out how something is put together, how it moves and behaves and feels. Nothing beats the ole' pen and paper when I'm first mulling over a new creature. It forces me to keep things small, which in turn keeps things quick and helps me focus on silhouette, movement, and answering questions. Hoping back over to digital is easy after that. The 'final' for this spread isn't so much a an overall final as it is a completion of the first pass, which acts as a jumping point for more iteration or further refinement.
Unnamed creature from my personal IP, EOE.
